Millions of people travel between African cities every day — for work, family, trade, and school. But booking a ticket still means going to a bus station, calling an agent, or relying on word of mouth. There's no search, no price comparison, no digital ticket, and no way to book from abroad.
Bukra is building the infrastructure to change that. We connect passengers with bus operators and airlines through a single platform — accessible via web, WhatsApp, and USSD. We support mobile money payments (MTN MoMo, M-Pesa, Airtel Money, T-Money, Flooz) because that's how people pay. We work in English, French, Arabic, and Swahili because that's what people speak.
Our goal is simple: make it as easy to book a Juba-to-Kampala bus as it is to book a flight on any global platform. Africa's transport market deserves modern infrastructure.

I'm from South Sudan. I started Bukra after a trip in 2023 where I traveled overland from South Sudan to Burundi for a visa. I had to cross four countries, all on manual booking systems. Fragmented operators, delays, breakdowns, and no way to rebook when things went wrong. That trip made the problem impossible to ignore.
The gap is on both sides. Travelers can't easily book across borders, and most bus operators still run on paper. Bukra is a simple, mobile-first platform that lets people book buses and flights across Africa, and gives operators the digital tools to run their business properly.
